Mar 17, 2010 - Hitch-hiked 400 miles to see my first show in St. Paul 5/11/77. 18 years old and crazy as a bag of hammers. Crossed over the U.S. border at 3:00 am. The border guard said..."You're going to see the Evil Dead?" "Well get going." No hassle whatsoever. Stuck out my thumb and was in St. Paul by noon. That evening was one of the definitive times in my life. It changed me in ways I cannot quantify. I'm sure it will reverberate into my next incarnation. I'll be a Deadhead till the day i drop.

Mar 18, 2010 - I saw them live at various venues from early 1969 until the late 80's. This period, and this version of the Dead was so fine. Energy and chops galore. Great to see Jerry the way i remember him, as a younger, slimmer, high energy guy, leading the band. Reminds me of why, though I was a jazz and R&B fan first, I got off on these folks so much.

Mar 19, 2010 - true the dead's version is the best. at least sublime changed it when they covered it. they didn't just try and copy it.

wireguy73 Says:
Feb 16, 2010 - it was sublimes take on this tune, not this tune as the dead did it. we see the very same thing in some of the many songs the dead covered... the dead's take on it, not the original tune.both good, just different.
