Jun 14, 2008 - This is easier to do if you pull off the string, then dump the bar, you have to do it in on motion though otherwise it wont sound too good.

Jun 21, 2008 - is it necessary to have a floyd rose? i know it helps, but i can make a similar sound with a normal whammy bar

jsd1982 Says:

Jun 21, 2008 - It's not necessary per se, but if you don't want your guitar flying out of tune when you stress the strings then I'd recommend having the floating bridge, or at least a locking bridge.

jsd1982 Says:

Jun 21, 2008 - Nope, standard E. :) It's hard enough to keep that guitar in tune and intonated in standard E as it is.

Jul 5, 2008 - is this possible without whammy bar?.. Iv'e seen it once, there was a guy playing a cover of Beat It, and he also made such a nice harcmonic... but he DIDN't use its whammy bar... how to do this?:-(.. ( Cause i own an Ibanez RGR-321 EX..which hasn't got a whammy bar ).. Plz help me:O

Jul 14, 2008 - Digitech whammy pedal maybe?

Home

Doublejeebus Says:

Jul 16, 2008 - Yes. You pick any old note, then when you're coming down with your thumb, JUST brush the string with your thunb (or other finger). Then, bend the note you have pressed down 'till hell freezes over, and there you go-- a harmonic squeal!

Aug 7, 2008 - my guitar's tremelo is really tight and it feels like i give it too much strain on it when i dump it. like it wont even go close to the body, while you just push it down like its nothing. is it just the string tension(im in standard) or is there a way to get it loose?

jsd1982 Says:

Aug 7, 2008 - How many springs are attaching your bridge to the guitar body? I wouldn't be surprised if you saw more than 3. Try CAREFULLY removing one spring to get down to 3, or 2 if you desire. Mine has 2 connecting. I haven't toyed with removing or adding springs myself so I can't help you out here. Seek professional help on that, trust me! You can royally eff up your guitar yourself playing with those springs.
