Nov 26, 2008 - The 04 RX8 seals are crap, they break easily compared to the older FD's and FC's (which I love). But because of those damn seals moisture somehow gets into the freakin crankcase boosting consumption, I ran a qt of oil every 600 miles. The 05 and later RX8's are less problematic, but the 04 the first generation is a piece of crap. The moisture

Nov 27, 2008 - bjjwhatever - SMGslimg00dy has already issued a reply so I don't need to waste effort. What I'd rather like to talk about is your fucked up attitude. You really don't like it when you don't get your own way do you? That's because your a spoiled, 14 year old virgin who loves to insult people on the internet to make yourself look big. Get a life and stop spamming my page.
bjjvancouver Says:
Nov 27, 2008 - Annie,On the internet, you expect the"smarts & not so smarts." Be warned, many pretend to be smart when in reality they're morons. Take this "ManWhoKnewTooLittle" guy, a talking contraction. His page says he attended college, taking mech.engin., now works as a mechanic, yet claims to be only 20 yr old. Then, he spews out nonesensical junk which have no basis in reality.Rotary has disadvantages, being thirsty & needing extra lub. But, has a lot fewer parts for less things going wrong.
Shadowsniper689 Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - It's not the Ascari anymore - it's now the Gumpert Apollo. It beat the Ascari in Season 11 Episode 6, I believe.
Charlie819boy Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - you can go to college and have a job. what so contradicting about that? i think it's honorable for a man to earn his own money especially when that said person is in college. As for the reliability issues, it's true. ever since they started to use ford parts it seemed like mazdas reliability rating has been on a slow decline. they do make exceptional cars like the mazdaspeed 3 & 6. but that's about it. before the mazdaspeeds came out the only true contender was the rx-7.
Charlie819boy Says:
Nov 28, 2008 - OH YEA NOT TO MENTION!i think a person going to college and having a job is a little more believable than a kid saying he has owned "SEVERAL" rotaries arguing the "RELIABILITY". talk about contradiction.
bjjvancouver Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - Now, about Mazda3 & 6. YOU who called "EXCEPTIONAL" cars are actually cars which share components w/ FORD!!!! Understand? From the Motors to various other parts.Mazda3 = Ford Focus; Mazda6 = Ford Taurus; Mazda CX7=Ford Edge etc and etc. Mazda doesn't have financial resouces to do all their R&D. This is where Ford comes in. Ford offers Mazda the means to develop the 4 bangers & V6s then share them w/ Ford. Thus, get some "edumacation" before making a fool of yourself in the public.
bjjvancouver Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - My goodness, ignorants are coming out of the woodwork. Charlieboy, RX8, along w/ Miata, share absolutely no parts w/ Ford. These 2 cars are what SEPARATE Mazda from Ford. These two cars are what makes Mazda, UNIQUELY Mazda. These two cars, again RX8 & Miata, are the only original and INDEPENDENT cars of/from Mazda. Every other car which Mazda offers are shared, as you call it "FORD PARTS," including your so-called "EXCEPTIONAL" cars >>Mazda3 & 6. It seems you got everything backwards?
stropsomsoc100 Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - Oil infiltrates eyes when standing behind the exhaust pipe of the rotary engine car. As understood if you read my name from the opposite,I own a first twin-rotary engine car Cosmosport. The rotary engine car is not economical, and is not a good car for the environment though it is happy driving. The rotary engine often breaks, and if seals are not exchanged by high cost , its fuel cost will become bad.
MagicAyrtonforever Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - Didn't realise they were so cheap.. Still prefer my 350Z Nissan, But sounds like a good car.. not sure about the rotary though.
Charlie819boy Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - read my comments again. i said the mazdaspeed. who here can argue that the mazdaspeed 3 owns it's competition. civic si, sentra se-r, and tiburon. both can't hold a lick to mazdaspeed 3 in terms of the cars being completely stock.
Charlie819boy Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - sorry they do. it may not be the important parts like engine internals but hoses, lines, and other minor items do come from ford. Ask any dealership in america. do you really think that as good as the mazdaspeed series and the rx-8 are, do you really think i didn't consider buy them the last time i was in the market for my last car? my payments are done in january and the with the R3 coming out i'm definitely checking that out. don't let your pride cloud your judgment.
Charlie819boy Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - Yea i would never trade in my STI for an rx-8. However, they are a great car to consider because of their relatively low price. i just don't like the torque. the high revs and handling is a plus.
Charlie819boy Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - bjwhatnot, only fool considers himself to be a wiseman but a wiseman knows himself to be a fool. -shakespeare.
MagicAyrtonforever Says:
Nov 29, 2008 - Sti sounds good...He says that the rx8 engine sound is good yet with the 350z he says it just drones? hmm, I think that, that V6 is the best sounding 6 ever.. even the 911 sounds like a drainpipe compared to my exhaust note.. mind you I have fitted a K&N induction kit and Fujitsubo Cat back exhaust system to it :D
aaronUSAF Says:
Nov 30, 2008 - Well first off. About mazda. They make ALL thier own cars, granted it is true they share some parts with ford but their unibodies are all original mazda. Ford actually adopts mazda bodies for thier cars in europe(well some like the new fiesta and ka based on the mazda 2 which is a small car much like the fit over seas). The Focus is entierly Ford and the 6 is actually the ford fusion not the tarus. Ford would do well to start using more of mazdas stuff in their cars.
prod1gy3000 Says:
Nov 30, 2008 - I think Clarkson had a few too many when he called the car 'sensational.' The RX-8 was basically one big dissapointment.
scify65 Says:
Nov 30, 2008 - what about mazda b-series trucks (b 2300 b-3000 b-4000) are just re-badged ford rangers
bjjvancouver Says:
Nov 30, 2008 - Mazda3 uses the same duratec 4 which is used in, "European" F. Focus; Mazda designed this motor, however the R&D funding came from Ford. Until recently, the motor in Mazda 6 was the same one used in Jag., Lincoln and F. Taurus, as you said, the Fusion for 2010.I merely made some generalization as far as Mazda/Ford, for the clueless here who are ragging on the RX8 & other rotary cars w/out much personal knowledge about them. They get the wind of Ford owning 35% of Mazda, then start...

bjjvancouver Says:
Nov 26, 2008 - Thus, oil reserve is quite a bit more than a conventional 4 bangers of equal size. Due to this inherent nature of rotary, one needs to check and add oil to properly maintain the rotor & its seals. Idiots like youself buys one and treat it like a piston engine is sure to neglect this procedure. Also, what the fuck do you know about oil consumption of a rotary when moron only knows by heresays? I only need to add 1 Qrt before oil changes.
