Nov 29, 2008 - they both make beats.:) Tyros provides a bit more versatility and sound quality for the money. Motif is still a fabulous Workstation, and Yamaha still refers to it as their Flagship synth. There is no better Synth to emulate real instruments than the Tyros though, even the Oasys cant compete, even though it delivers great results.

Nov 29, 2008 - 'making beats' is such a broad definiton. Too broad. Depends what music you are going to use your workstation for. Motif is great for real instruments, as well as synths, Tyros is great for acoustic emulation if that is your custom, and Oasys is prime and its synthesizers and effects. They are all capable and versatile machines in every aspect, but some are suited better for certain styles than others.
