Nov 27, 2008 - Not true re Salman Rushdie. When questioned about it, he quoted the Koran which apparently gives death as the appropriate sentence for unrepentant blasphemy, just like the Bible does. Journalists then made up their stories around that - he did not support for the fatwa, just gave a somewhat naive response. Of course, his clarification the next day wasn't front page news.

Nov 28, 2008 - When i listen to Cat Stevens, I listen to Cat Stevens, not is religion, his politics, the music. I will always like many of his songs and the era that they fell in. The rest, is debatable on other sites I suppose. But at this site, Listen to the music and what it says. Enjoy it and that window of time. That is what I do and I am sure there are a few of you out there like myself.

And in 2000 he was deported from Israel over allegations that he backed the militant Islamic group Hamas. Other than his radical views I love his music.I think he most likely hates us.
