2010 9 Jul

It’s been the driest month in England since the mid 1920’s and we haven’t seen a drop of rain in some counties for months now. So what exactly has happened to the UK summer? It’s actually hot, there’s not rain and the sun is staying out, most people in the country must think they’ve woken up in Spain.
Usually, we’d all be complaining that it’s too wet, the summer didn’t last long enough and it’s just not as hot as we’d like. Well in 2010 we’ve gotten that hot summer we always pretend we want, and up till now we’ve spent it complaining (it’s too hot, too humid and it needs to rain).

Recent weather reports have suggested that the dry spell is set to continue, as it the hot weather, so it looks like we’ll be needing those fans for a little while longer. Not to jump on the complaining bandwagon, but i’d agree it really is too hot in most offices. If our new prime minister wasn’t hell bent on making cuts, i’d suggest a country-wide campaign to get an air purifier and conditioner in every home, office and shop in the country.

Some places in England are so worried about the dry spell, they’ve bought up the classic British solution; the hosepipe ban. Have we ever actually run out of water in this country? Even in the 20’s did that actually happen? If we really can’t get through one dry spell without panicking and banning anything that so much as dribbles water, we’re not the same country I always thought we were. Everyone’s already well aware of the fact that once Christmas rolls back around it’ll be back to heavy rain and freezing cold, and we’ll all be gathered around the patio heaters whining about the cold and wishing it was summer.
Right, enough complaining about the weather, I’m off to buy a dehumidifier and enjoy watching the World Cup final in HD, even if Capello and his boys are back in England.

When you go on a stag weekend you normally expect a drunken time with your mates, not falling 100ft in lift and then being trapped on the beach. Well this is what happened to a stag party in Newquay UK.

The 6 men used a lift which takes people up and down from the beach below, as their hotel is based on high cliff. Although part way down the lift stopped, then after few seconds feel 100 ft to the floor. After the fall the other problem they had was they were now stuck on the beach with the tied coming in. Luckily the ambulance and seaside rescue teams were on hand to rescue the men. Only one man needed to go to hospital after the fall and one of the other men stated they still managed to get to the pub on time.

Newquay has always been a favourite for stag parties for many years due to its great night life. The surfing capital of England is based in North Cornwall, deep in England’s West Country. It always been a place which attracts many youngster as well as stag parties depending on the time of year you go.

Over the summer Newquay has many beach attractions and events making their beach line the best in the UK. Newquay has over 11 beaches on its shoreline and over a hundred pubs and clubs. With the vast choices of excitement and entertainment, it’s not surprising men can’t resist a stag night in Newquay.

One of its main beaches which put Newquay on every surfer’s map is The Fistral Beach. As the major surfing beach in the UK, tourists especially the surfing enthusiasts, flood usually in the summer season.

So you never know what might happen on a stag do but whatever happens sure do make the most of it.
