Beatles Stereo Box Set

The Beatles Stereo Box Set was released in September of 2009 it instantly became the standard for The Beatles legendary albums. These remastered stereo mixes sound far better than the old discs from the 80s. When a listener compares the remastered CDs to the older discs it’s like the old CDs are under a pile of wet blankets while the new discs sound very clear so that all of the vocals, guitar parts, bass guitar parts, and drums punch through the mixes instead of being swallowed up by whats around them.

The Remastered Beatles in Stereo Box Set isn’t the only Beatles box set released in ‘09 but it is the most popular since it can be appreciated by the largest variety of fans. The Remastered Beatles in Mono Box Set is great too but it appeals mostly to purists who need to listen to the original mono mixes (because the mono mixes are what the band themselves worked on) than to an fan. Although there are definitely songs that sound better in mono than in stereo (especially quite a few of the pre 1967 recordings in my opinion) overall I think the stereo CD set does sound best.

The fab thing about The Beatles in Stereo Remastered CD Box Set is that it lets you to acquire The Beatles entire 1960s discography with just one order and considering the high quality of all of their CDs, it makes the most sense to get al of the albums at one time instead of buying some and then getting more later.

Beyond the wonderful songs included in this box set there are some really cool visual parts, the 13 mini documentary (for each studio album) DVD is the most obvious. Along with this documentary DVD there are also extended liner notes for each album (there’s some good info in there, particularly for new fans) and some great unpublished photographs.

I am such a big Beatles fanatic that I’ve got (or am planning on buying) The Beatles Stereo Box, The Beatles Mono Box Set, The Beatles USB Flash Drive, and The Beatles Rock Band Video Game. But if I had to choose just one of these items, it would have to be the comprehensive stereo box because it is the best way to hear their music and after all, it’s the classic albums that is the most important.
